Duke Grad Photos | Durham Senior Photographer

Jonathan’s Duke graduation session started early in the morning at Duke Chapel, which is one of my favorite times and places to photograph on campus. With fewer people around, we were able to take our time capturing those classic Duke graduation photos in front of the Chapel before walking around campus for a little more variety.

One of our stops was the Gothic Reading Room inside the library, one of Jonathan’s favorite places at Duke. I always love when graduates choose locations that are personally meaningful to them. It makes their graduation photos feel like a reflection of their actual time on campus rather than simply checking off the most recognizable Duke landmarks.

Jonathan was incredibly nice and so easy to work with throughout the morning. Originally from California, he was preparing to head back west after graduation, making this session a final chance to document the Duke campus he called home. I’m so glad we could capture some classic portraits along with a few of the places that meant the most to him, and I wish him all the best!
